What equivalents do English speakers  find for the French idioms ?

°l'appétit vient en mangeant : (the) appetite comes with (the) eating.

°C'est l'hôpital qui se moque de la charité : it's like the pot calling the kettle black.

°On voit la paille dans l'oeil de son voisin, mais pas la poutre dans le sien. Before you look at the splinter in your neighbour's eye, take out the log in your own eye.

°souris à la vie et la vie te sourira : you shouldn't take life too seriously.

°Et toc !  (= Touché ! = Laisse tomber ! t'es pas mon père)  You're not my dad! [a famous TV-trope, now a closing line to any quarrel between teens and their father ... or mother !]
